CBK ANNOUNCES YOUTH READING PROGRAM

Back by popular demand, Citizens Bank of Kansas is offering young readers an opportunity to have fun while reading this summer. . . and earn money!  The program dates are May 27, 2025, through August 1, 2025.

Partnering with community libraries, the CBK Youth Reading Program provides age-appropriate reading lists and a reading log.  Students will earn $5.00 for every five books they read – up to $25.00 – to be deposited into a CBK Youth Savings Account.  New accounts are also eligible to receive a CBK Piggy Bank or CBK Wrist Key Chain.

“We launched the Summer Reading Program last year and received positive feedback from readers, parents, and local libraries,” said Jane Deterding, Chairman of the Board of Citizens Bank of Kansas. “Citizens Bank of Kansas is committed to supporting our communities, and this program is another example of that commitment.  Who doesn’t want to earn money for reading books!”

Suggested reading lists – including financial books – are provided for Elementary and Middle School Students.  Each student must read at least one financial book to be eligible for the cash prize.  Reading lists and logs are available at all CBK Branches and the following participating community libraries: Bradford Memorial Library (El Dorado), Kingman Carnegie Library (Kingman), Lincoln Library (Medicine Lodge), the Winfield Public Library, and the Pretty Prairie Public Library.  Reading logs must be returned to CBK by August 15, 2025.
